With its winding roads, mystic lore and unique people, the Mississippi Delta is a special place to visit. The Real Delta Tour is an attempt to offer an authentic taste of the Delta and to build awareness about the special place many call home. Typically, our tours cover six counties (Bolivar, Sunflower, Washington, Tallahatchie, Coahoma, and LeFlore). It is over 200 miles of real Mississippi Delta roads that you and your group will never forget.

 

The experience will lead to the birthplaces of Jim Henson and B.B. King and the final resting places of Blues legend Robert Johnson and Civil Rights advocate Fannie Lou Hamer. While showcasing the great accomplishments of Delta men and women and the tragic crimes that colored their lives, the Real Delta Tour will allow you to taste authentic Delta cuisine and cut loose in the same Juke Joints that cradled the birth of American music.

 

During travel, you will be joined by Delta natives who will share an endless stream of colorful stories. By the time the tour ends, you'll leave with a true sense of Mississippi Delta history that will include info about their lives and memories of people and places that could only exist in the Real Delta.
